About - Commissions
Throughout SREB’s history, governors have taken the lead on critical education issues by convening policymakers from member states. SREB commissions bring greater attention to these topics, build consensus and make recommendations to address the challenges. The focus of a commission often arises from SREB’s Goals for Education; commission recommendations always inform revisions of the Goals.
How can we build and scale partnerships to prepare more students through work-based learning?
The SREB Commission on Strategic Partnerships for Work-Ready Students is exploring how work-based learning can prepare more students for the world of work. Its charge is to recommend promising practices to engage businesses and create systemic change so that partnerships and career pathways can deliver students these learning experiences.
The Commission began its work in late 2018.
